4C's Diamonds

The 4Cs of Diamonds means the four fundamental elements that decide the Diamond’s class, quality and worth - Cut, Color, Clarity and Carat Weight. These work together to decide the overall beauty and value of a Diamond. From the expensive cut to the brightness of its color, every factor is crucial to make a Diamond extraordinarily shiny, durable and decide its overall value.

Anatomy of a Diamond.

  1. Starting from the Basic Structure :- Diamonds are made up of carbon atoms which are arranged in lattice structure.

Its Structural Parts are - Crown, Table, Star Facets and Bezel Facets.

Then comes Girdle :- The narrow band around the broadest part of the  Diamond.

Then, Pavilion :- The lowest part of a Diamond.

At last, Depth:- The overall height of the Diamond from the table of bottom.

  1. Performance of Light :- How a light interacts with the structure of Diamonds are directly linked with its fire, brilliance and its aglitter.
  2. Types of Cuts in Diamond :- Diamond Cuts are very remarkable for describing anatomy, such as - Round cut, Emerald, Princess, Pear Marquise and Oval.

CUT

Diamond Cut refers to how well a diamond's surface interacts with light. It is different from the Diamond’s shape instead linked with the Diamonds polish, symmetry and proportions. The Cut is important because of its significant impact on a Diamonds beauty. A perfect cut Diamond which shines back from one surface to another.

The Key to Light Performance

  • Intensity

Extreme colorless be diffused by the Diamond.

  • Fire

Clear flash of rainbow type color appears as light turns within Diamond.

  • Twinkle

Visible shining flashes of light split open from a diamond as it moves.

  • Symmetry of Light

scattering from a diamond pretended by cut and breathmark.

Clarity

Clarity is one of the most critical as well as least important of 4Cs and are usually very small to detect with our naked eyes. It means the present of eternal as well as internal imperfections which are called blemishes and inclusion.

Inclusion - These occur naturally during formation of diamonds, which includes - Crystals, Clouds, Features, Pinpoints, Needles.

Blemishes - These occur outside of the diamond which includes - Scratches, Pits, Polish lines, Nicks.

Diamond does not hold diamonds in the 'Included' category. We recommend diamonds of clarity SI1 and above because imperfections and flaws are not visible to the naked eye. Inclusions and imperfections on diamonds with clarity SI1 or higher have little effect on the diamond's ability to reflect and refract light, causing it to sparkle. We occasionally propose diamonds with SI2 clarity, as long as the cut and colour are adequate to compensate for the low clarity.

Color

This is also most crucial from the 4Cs of diamonds which means the natural shade that is available inside the stone. The most precious diamonds are often with the minimal color.

The Gemological Institute of America initiated a color grading system that ranges from Z(light brown, yellow) to D(colorless).

Diamond exclusively has diamonds graded 'Colourless' (D-F) and 'Near Colourless' (G-J). We occasionally carry K color diamonds, provided that the cut and clarity are good enough to compensate for the poor color, delivering a good value for money diamond to our customers.

Carat

Carat of a diamond indicates what weight that diamond carries. Carat weight can make the rise of diamond weight if all the other characteristics remain the same. Carat is a measurement unit usually used to describe the weight of a diamond. A

A carat is equal to 200 milligrams which is subdivided into 100 points
